Joining Hands

By: Kimberley Fernandes

With an in-depth understanding of the development sector, Joining Hands felt the need for an organization that would help NGOs access unaffordable but much needed skills and professional talent. They also perceived the need of a section of people who believe in social change and want to contribute their time, skills and talent for the benefit of the community, but are uncertain about how to do it. Joining Hands, a nonprofit organization, was founded to address the needs of both these sections of people by facilitating their coming together to move towards greater progress of the social development sector.

Joining Hands,  aims to make volunteering more credible, accountable and have a greater impact in India .Joining Hands has 'hands on' experience in the field of development, which includes Identification, Monitoring and Evaluation of projects to ensure optimal utilization of resources by the NGOs being supported. Having more than 45 evaluated partner NGOs that are working at grassroots level on varied social issues Joining Hands has a structured volunteering process in place

Joining Hands places volunteers in NGOs committed to social change. It also works towards sharing of information and resources amongst the NGOs that it partners to optimize the benefits to the community. Joining Hands continually strives to identify new organizations that use innovative and effective practices for the development of the communities they work with.
