InVenture

InVenture unleashes the potential of developing entrepreneurs to lift themselves and their communities out of poverty by connecting individuals directly with these entrepreneurs, thus enabling the opportunity to create long-term substantial impact.

InVenture was started to give everyday people the opportunity to partner with businesses all over the world -- businesses that can become engines for economic growth and change the fate of their communities.

InVenture wants to change the present system of collapsing micro-business. It wants to solve the problem of the undeserved "missing middle" in developing economies by giving developing entrepreneurs the chance to expand, to employ more of their neighbors, and to lift their communities out of poverty.
InVenture motto: Together, we'll grow good businesses and good communities — and create markets where other individuals, their families, and their businesses can flourish/succeed.

KHOJ Foundation

Back around 26 November 2005 Khoj started as a small initiative with 3 volunteers at Dilli Haat, providing literacy to 11 children who earned their livelihood by polishing shoes.

Its vision is to envision a world without apathy and indifference, a society where every individual is aware about social issues and takes responsibility towards these issues. Its objectives are to enable the children on streets to express their thoughts in writing and comprehend the meaning of what they read. To empower the children to explore things in their own right and make decisions which are in harmony with themselves and the society at large. To enable children to earn their livelihood with dignity by developing skills, abilities and talents to better support themselves and their families. Promote volunteerism and a sense of social responsibility amongst people towards the life of the children on streets.

Till now they have targeted around 120 children at 7 different sites in south Delhi. KHOJ foundation became a support system for the children guiding them towards a dignified life and educational opportunities. Over 1500 volunteers have worked with KHOJ since its inception.

Thar Integrated Social Development Society (TISDS)

Journalist: Ramya Ajay

TISDS, a Jaisalmer-based non-governmental organisation, has been actively involved in addressing the regional ecological issues since 1994. Interestingly, it was in 1986, that a group of 15 higher secondary school students got together in Jaisalmer to address the environmental issues related to forestry, sacred groove and traditional rainwater harvesting systems and land management. And finally in April 1994 they registered the group as TISDS. Since then they have been constantly addressing issues concerning forest, land and water in the rural areas of Jaisalmer.
TISDS has been largely involved in generating ecological awareness in the rural areas through gram baithaks, reviving Oran (sacred groves) in the region and popularizing traditional rainwater harvesting systems for instance, nadis, paar, tankas etc. Old and dilapidated nadis at Damodara, Dujasar were restored to meet the drinking water requirement of the human and livestock population.
Similarly, TISDS was involved in rejuvenating the paar system at Khadera and Damodara village. In order to provide drinking water to school students, TISDS constructed a tanka at Salkha village.

Pankhudi Foundation

Pankhudi Foundation is a Social Development Organization (a registered Charitable Trust in India) with a few likeminded people from different parts of world who share among them a drive to do their bit towards the making of a cognitive society. With an intention to put collective efforts, they are here to work together and gather people who find themselves inspired to uplift the lives of those children who grow with inadequate education, resources and psychological supports - several calls them as "Underprivileged" and "Orphans".

Pankhudi was formed with an inclusive goal in mind to uplift under-privileged children of the society. The birth of Pankhudi (April 18th, 2005 IIT Bombay) was around the idea of connecting minds with similar vision, passion, ideas, action plans and commitment, and this was achieved through a seed community of Pankhudi on Orkut.

Milestones have been set in its progress so far by their small but persistent efforts. Shahzad Wakeel, Founder of Pankhudi, is an alumnus of IIT Bombay and a young professional with diverse experience in various domains and has keen interest in architecting ‘communities of practice’.

Pankhudi strongly introduces the concept of mass-volunteering and communicates that every individual can pitch in some of their time, energy and effort in imparting adequate & value education and necessary healthcare to the needy children of our society - to ensure empowered, healthy and responsible future generations.
